Posted: October 25th, 2019Mary Ellen Crabb passed away peacefully in Lethbridge, Alberta on October 24, 2019 at the age of 104 years. Mary was born in Bow Island on February 26, 1915 to Henry and Ellen Housley as the only daughter with four brothers. She was raised in very small towns in Southern Alberta and learned the value of hard work and family closeness. She married Daniel J Crabb, October 7, 1939, in Lethbridge. Together with their daughter, Linda, they joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on March 10, 1962. Mary and Dan served an LDS Church mission in Hawaii and later became snowbirds, spending the winters in Arizona. They enjoyed life; loved to dance, play cards, travel and were always together.
Mary will be remembered for her love of her family and her positive attitude. She loved cooking, knitting, crocheting, and quilting for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Even at the age of 90 she was a quick learner, mastering email to keep in touch with her daughter and family. At 104 she loved to play solitaire on her IPad. She enjoyed people, especially her friends at Garden View Lodge, Lethbridge 2005-2016. On Mother’s Day 2016, Mary moved to Good Samaritan Park Meadows in North Lethbridge.
