PHILLIPS

LEONA CATHERINE PHILLIPS, born on April 13, 1932 in Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at the age of 87, on November 22, 2019 at the Rockyview Hospital in Calgary surrounded by her loving family.

Leona is survived by her son Thomas (Pat) and three granddaughters Michelle (Craig) Brassard; Tobie (Cory) Oliver; Terri-Jo (Tim) Hulshof, great grandsons Jace, Connor, and Jack Oliver, Keenan Brassard and little Michael Hulshof, and two sisters Karen Faulds and Myrna Ichino.

She is predeceased by her first husband Doug Phillips and her loving companion of 33 years John Trischuk, brothers Esdale, Ivan, Stan (Ida), and Dennis, and sisters Dorothy, Helen, and Sylvia (Donnie).

Leona grew up in Shaughnessy and worked all her life in the payroll department at the Met. She spent many years in the Lethbridge store and then transferred throughout Alberta opening new stores, settling in Calgary where she resided until her passing.

Gram loved her vacations with John in Hawaii and they both loved soaking up the sun and shopping at the markets.

Gram dearly loved her granddaughters and her 5 great grandsons. She never missed a birthday or a special occasion, still driving by herself all the way down from Calgary.

Twice a week Leona looked forward to meeting up with her friends at the mall for lunch, where they would sit for hours and solve all the world problems.

Gram was known for her strong spirit and independence. She enjoyed a happy and healthy life and we will all miss her dearly.

A special thanks to the team at Rockyview Emergency Care Unit, in Calgary.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday November 27, 2019 at SALMON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 433 Stubb Ross Road South, Lethbridge (entrance to the airport).
