CLYDE “KAY” COOK, age 94, passed away April 1, 2020 at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Unit. He was pre-deceased by his mother Fay Aleene Depew(nee Kesler, Selman, Cook), his father Clyde F. Cook, and his step-father Ray Depew. Kay spent his early years between Magrath and Raymond, completing his high school in Raymond. He then served a mission for the LDS church in Australia and when he returned home, he worked for several years for the Alberta Treasury Branch. Kay then went back to school in Portland, Oregon where he took his course in hairstyling and came back to Lethbridge. He then established the Alberta Beauty School, owner, operator and teacher for the next 25 years. During this time, he also was owner of the Lakeview Travel Agency. Kay travelled the world extensively, visiting 108 countries during his lifetime. His favourites being New Zealand, Australia and China. When he wasn’t travelling Kay would spend his time at his house in Lethbridge or his farm on the Milk River Ridge. He will be sadly missed and never forgotten. Kay wanted a grave side service at his plot at Temple Hill and then a luncheon will happen in his honour in Raymond. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic this will have to be postponed until a later date. When it is safe to have these functions there will be a notification posted giving a date and time.
