RASMUSSEN, Maureen
Posted: May 2nd, 2020MAUREEN ELIZABETH WILKINSON RASMUSSEN, beloved wife of the late Robert Rasmussen, passed away in Raymond on April 29, 2020 at the age of 82.
Maureen was born on May 14, 1937, in Kingston-Upon-Hull, Yorkshire, England. She met Robert while he was serving a mission in England, and in 1957, immigrated to Canada to marry him. Together they settled on the family farm near Magrath where they raised five children. Maureen was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many different capacities over the years. She and Robert spent many years serving as temple workers, only taking a break to serve a mission in Virginia. She worked for many years as an Educational Assistant in the Magrath schools, and she cared deeply for the students and their families. She will be remembered for her beautiful singing voice, her sparkling smile, wit and playful nature.
She is survived by her children: Roberta Humphreys (Douglas), LeRoy (Lori), John (Roxanne), Kent (Rhonda), and Ranae Hatch (Thomas), 17 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, brother Malcolm Wilkinson (Marion) and sister Valerie Ackerman. In addition to Robert, she is predeceased by her parents, Madge and Harold Wilkinson and great-granddaughter Elizabeth Mueller.
The family would like to thank the staff of the GSS Prairie Ridge Cottage One and Dr. Majken Villiger for taking such wonderful care of Maureen in her final days.

Friends are welcome to pay their respects to Maureen on Sunday May 3, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Salmon and Sons Funeral Home (433 Stubb Ross Road South, Lethbridge). Due to the restrictions on public gatherings, please wait in your vehicle until a staff member comes to get you, also please wear a mask if possible. Hand sanitizer will be provided.
