It is with great sadness we announce that ERIC VOGEL, beloved husband and best friend of Linda Vogel, passed away peacefully with loving family by his side on May 5, 2020, at the age of 58.
He is the proud and loving father of four daughters: Brittany, Caylee, Brooklyn, and Shaylin, who cherish him deeply. He was the dearly loved son of Johannes and Elisabeth Vogel, and brother of Marianna (Greg) Schmidt, Christine (John) Kobza, and Lawrence (Leslie) Vogel. He was an amazing uncle to several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his older brother, Mark Vogel.
Eric was born on January 13, 1962 in Lethbridge. He attended school in Turin then Picture Butte High School before attending Lethbridge College for Agriculture Technology. At the age of 5, Eric’s love and passion for farming began where he worked with much enjoyment, dedication, and perfection.
Eric constantly guided, taught, mentored, and empowered his daughters to achieve their very best, to approach life with the highest amount of respect and kindness for others, and to emulate the morals, values, and faith that was important to him. Throughout the years, Eric made numerous life-long friends which he cherished just like family. He was a positive influence to all he met.
Eric had a life well lived and full of purpose, a life full of endless love and kindness, a life filled with memories that will remain forever in our hearts, and a life that leaves a legacy behind to make this world a better place.
In Eric’s last weeks, he informed his wife and daughters that he “lived a great, fulfilled life, enjoyed and experienced all he wanted to do with nothing left undone”, and that he is “forever grateful and blessed with such an extraordinary, loving family, and incredible friends”, and of course, to “Let the Good Times Roll” (– The Cars).
In lieu of flowers, Eric would want you to express your love and contribute time to those you value.
Visitation will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB on Friday, May 15, 2020 from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. Due to the current pandemic, admittance will be limited to 15 people at any given time.
Due to the pandemic, a Private Funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Picture Butte on Saturday, May 16, 2020. The Mass will be livestreamed, and it can be viewed on our website under Eric’s obituary.
Interment will follow at Royal View Memorial Cemetery in Lethbridge.
