Sandra “Sandy” Michelle

Anderson

1964 – 2020

It is with deep sadness that Sandra’s family announces her sudden passing on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at the age of 55 years after a short battle with cancer. Sandra is lovingly remembered by her husband, Bill; sons, Chad and Conor; extended family, and friends.

Sandra was born in Langenburg, Saskatchewan to Donald and Marlene Perry in 1964. The family eventually settled in Castlegar, B.C. and it was in Castlegar Bill and Sandra met on a blind date and fell in love. They remained in Castlegar for several years before relocating to Lethbridge, Alberta in 1986, married, started their respective careers and raised a family.

After graduating in 1994 with a diploma in Nursing from Lethbridge Community College, Sandra started a lifelong career at Chinook Regional Hospital. Sandra was an exceptional nurse who was compassionate, empathetic, caring, and never forgot the importance of a smile.

Sandra was extremely kind and soft spoken and always committed to family and friends- even in her last days. Her most significant accomplishments are present in each and every life she touched.

Sandra was predeceased by her mother, Marlene Perry, and brother, Mark Perry.

During this especially challenging time the family wishes to express thanks to the nurses and staff of Unit 4C- Medicine. And a very special thank you to Beverly Nemeth and Karen Peltier who put their personal and professional lives on hold to provide attentive and compassionate care to Sandra on a 24/7 basis the last week of her life.

With the current restrictions in place, a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and time to provide an opportunity for family and friends to gather and celebrate Sandra’s life.
