Marion Kvame

1931 – 2021

Marion Kvame of Lethbridge, AB, beloved wife of Lloyd Kvame passed away peacefully after a short illness on July 14 at the age of 89 years.

Marion was born in Calgary, AB on December 31, 1931. She grew up and attended her entire school years in the Fort Macleod area. Following graduation, she went to work for the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in Fort Macleod and it was there that she met the love of her life, Lloyd. They were married on August 12, 1959 and were thrilled to celebrate their 60th Anniversary with family and friends in August 2019.

Marion was a devoted mother and caregiver to other family members and friends. With Lloyd, they established a loving home in Fort Macleod where their door was always open to family and friends. Marion was a dedicated member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Fort Macleod and later in Lethbridge. She supported many church activities and was a member of the local Dorothy Douglas chapter (including serving a time as President), an active member of the Ladies Aid organization, a Sunday School teacher, and the church organist for a time.

Throughout her years, Marion found a love for gardening and canning. Her joy of cooking for family saw her prepare many meals with her fresh vegetables from her garden and more throughout the year with her canned veggies, jams, and jellies. She also spent many hours supporting her sons’ sports activities as a Hockey & Baseball Mom by attending, volunteering, and driving for the teams. Marion also became an avid stamp collector and enjoyed crocheting. In later years, Marion and Lloyd were longtime season ticket holders of the Lethbridge Bulls Baseball Club. Together, they moved to Lethbridge to the West Highlands Estates and thoroughly enjoyed the special friends and environment that came with their new home.

Besides her loving husband, Marion is survived by two sons. Kevin of Lethbridge, AB and Stephen (Christianne) of Drayton Valley, AB. Five grandchildren: Hannah, Ethan, Emma, Logan, and Reese, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Dora Miller as well as two brothers, Gordon (Ruth) and Gerald (Kerry) Miller.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 pm on Tuesday July 20, 2021 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4TH STREET S. in Lethbridge, AB with Reverend Dewald Delport, officiating.

Interment to follow in Fort Macleod Cemetery.
