Alisha Schmidt

March 12, 1988 – July 10, 2021

With broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of Alisha Maree Schmidt of Calgary, Alberta on July 10, 2021. She slipped away from us in her sleep at the age of 33 years

Alisha was born March 12, 1988 in Lethbridge Alberta and spent her childhood growing up in the Crowsnest Pass. She was full of life and enjoyed her younger years horseback riding, swimming, and attending Summer Camp. In 2017 she was ready to spread her love and she enrolled in the Addictions & Community Services Program in Calgary. She was driven and motivated to positively impact this world and after graduation she had found her passion as a Support Worker to some of Calgary’s most vulnerable men. At this job she met her partner Sean Woods, they began to build a life together full of love, laughter, and happy times. She spent her best and final years watching Dominic and Teigan enjoy the life she worked so hard to create with their favorite time being spent swimming at McKenzie Lake. Her contagious smile, unfiltered laugh, and precious memories will never fade from our hearts.

Left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life are her beloved children Dominic and Teigan; her partner Sean Woods; parents Lawrence Schmidt of Pincher Creek and Julie MacPherson of Lethbridge; her paternal grandparents Bernard and Geraldine Schmidt of Pincher Creek; her sisters Ashlee Schmidt (Logan) and Baylee Schmidt (Shane); her brother Jordan MacPherson (Veronica); niece Atlee and newborn nephew Kash; best friend Ashley Doell and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Ron & Margaret Jackson, her stepfather Al Friesen and Dominic’s Dad Mitch LaPlante.

A Celebration of Alisha’s Life will be held at 2:00 pm, on Monday, July 26, 2021 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, Lethbridge, Alberta with Elizabeth Martin Jong, celebrant. Dress for the summer heat.

Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the GoFundMe memorial, funds raised will be used to care for her young children left behind.
