BOURNE, Alden
Posted: December 14th, 2021ALDEN GEORGE BOURNE, dearly loved husband of Karen Bourne, passed away at his home in Magrath on Friday, December 10, 2021 after a valiant fight against cancer.
Along with his wife, he is lovingly remembered by his children; Shawna (Nathan) Rimington and Greg (Mary) Bourne; grandchildren Brittany, Dyllan and Catie Rimington and Layla and Baron Bourne; great grandson Parker Rimington; sister Karen (Norm) Kesler; brother-in-law Stewart MacLeod; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gerald and Lynda Udal; brother-in-law Myles White and many other extended family members.
He was pre-deceased by his parents Albert and Catherine Elnora Bourne, his sister Dorothy MacLead, his sister-in-law Debbie White and his father and mother-in-law Eldon and Arlene Moen. Alden was born June 27, 1947 in Lethbridge and he spent a happy childhood there. On October 7, 1967 he married his high school sweetheart, Karen Moen. They enjoyed 54 years together as best friends during their married life. Alden spent many years working as a commission salesman, employed by Sears Canada. He developed friendships with many loyal customers. He was a gentle, kind man who loved to serve others however he could. He loved the outdoors . In particular, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He took such pleasure in spending time with his family in the mountains. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings throughout his life. He was a true and loyal friend to many.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday December 18, 2021 at 1:00pm. Due to Covid-19, the Service is invite only. A livestream will be available on the Salmon and Sons website.
A Viewing will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, GARDEN PLACE CHAPEL,170 North Centre Street Magrath from 7:00 to 8:00pm on Friday, December 17, 2021. Please R.S.V.P by contacting Salmon & Sons.
