HEALY

JIMMY HEALY, a dignified life lived. Jimmy was a Kipitaipookaa, treasured by his maternal grandmother Mary Stabsdown. The family of Jimmy are deeply saddened to announce that our beloved family, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, passed away the day of Saturday, December 4, at the age of 60 years old. Jimmy will be called home to his wife Karen Eagle Bear, his father Johnny Healy, maternal grandmother Mary Stabsdown, maternal grandfather Fred Stabsdown, paternal grandmother Kate Healy, paternal grandfather Mike Healy, eldest brother Rudy John Healy, and nephews Jonas Murray Robin Healy, Aldwin Jr. Healy, and Cory Scout and all his relations who have gone home to Creator before him.

Jimmy was born on November 25, 1961, at the Blood Indian Hospital to his parents, Isabel Healy (Pi’kssipitaakii) and the late Johnny Healy. Jimmy loved his children Michael and Lucy very much and loved taking care of his family on the Blood Reserve where he grew up. Jimmy had his own bus operation for 30 years and was employed with the Blood Bus Coop. Jimmy received his education and graduated from F.P.Walshe, Fort Macleod, as well as the Lethbridge College. Jimmy received several awards that recognized his gifts in the visual arts.

Jimmy was employed at the Kainai Industries for several years where he received further training for his carpentry and trades. Jimmy was also a very skilled and talented interior decorator and enjoyed fulfilling many contracts for Blood Tribe Housing and other homeowners. Jimmy also had a deep love and talent for art and spending many hours outdoors hunting, fishing and being embraced in nature. Jimmy enjoyed spending time with family, and he was a very good listener. Jimmy loved his music and sharing it with family, he also loved the art of making model cars and airplanes.

Jimmy will be remembered as someone who enjoyed sharing his unique humor in the Blackfoot Language and making his family laugh. Jimmy was a dedicated bus driver who took pride in helping many children attain their education as he ensured they had safe and consistent transportation from home and school.

Jimmy is survived by: his children Michael and Lucy Eagle Bear/Healy, mother Isabel Healy, and siblings: Mary Fox (Gordon Alex), Aldwin Healy (Marie), Marlene Healy (Lonnie), Casey Healy (Charlotte), Debra Healy, and Mark Healy (Iris); nieces and nephews, Patricia Soop/Healy, Marlin Bottle/Healy, Terrance Bottle/Healy, Lenny Fox, Shaneen Fox (Neal), Andrea True Joy Fox (Javier), Kendall Healy, Hilary Healy, Martie Gros Ventreboy (Wylie), Michael Healy, Lacey Healy, Chelsea Healy, Chynell Shade, Haley Shade; and many great nieces and nephews.

A Family Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 5:00 P.M., with a Wake to follow until 10:00 P.M.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 – 13 Street North, Lethbridge, AB, on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Kevin Tumback celebrating. Following the Funeral Mass, Jimmy will be laid to rest on the Blood Reserve in the One Spot Cemetery.
