1930 – 2022
Mr. Darwin Linn of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Marguerite passed away peacefully at St Michael’s Health Centre in palliative care on Wednesday February 16, 2022 at the age of 91 years old, hours short of his 92nd birthday.
Dad was born in Lethbridge, Alberta at the Galt Hospital in 1930. He was a pioneer businessman starting Southern Stationers in 1947. He ran the business very successfully and made many friends over the years. He was a member of the Lions Club, Elks Club, Lethbridge Curling Club, Henderson Lake Golf Club and probably a few others. Dad enjoyed golfing and curling making lifelong friendships through these activities. He and mom enjoyed travelling abroad and their time at Crystal Lakes, MT and Verde West in AZ. He attended “fish meetings” regularly and always looked forward to fishing with the guys on the yearly west coast trips.
Besides his loving wife Marguerite, Darwin was predeceased by his parents, Alfreda and Charlie Linn and his infant son Alan.
He is survived by his daughter Leslie Linn-Landry and her husband Rick Essen of Houston, TX; grandson Dean Landry and his fiancé Ashley Sommerfeld of Lethbridge; son Gary Linn of Lethbridge; grandson Thomas Linn (traveler extraordinaire); Daughter Diane Bergen and her husband Patrick Bergen of Calgary; grandson Marcus Jesse and granddaughter Nicole Jesse of Lethbridge; Patrick’s children Travis, Brittany, and Caden of Calgary; sister Bev Martin and Seth Martin (deceased) from Trail, BC and nieces Lynne, Patti, and Susan; Brother Barrie Linn (deceased); and nephew Darren Linn of Calgary;
He is a legend to us, and we will be celebrating his life at LEGEND’S PUB & GRILL, 2433 FAIRWAY PLAZA RD. S. LETHBRIDGE, between 1:30 and 4:30 pm on Monday February 21, 2022 and would be happy for all to join us and remember Dad.
A private family Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm at Archmount Cemetery on Tuesday February 22, 2022.
