Carolyn was predeceased by her loving parents, Vada & Andrew Archibald, brothers Gerald and Gordon, in-laws Naida and Leonard, and many other family members.
Carolyn was born on May 14th, 1941 in Cardston, Alberta to Vada and Andrew Archibald and attended school in Leavitt, Alberta. When Carolyn was only 13 months old, she became a big sister to twin brothers, Gerald and Gordon and several years later brothers Dexter and Robert. At the age of 16, Carolyn set her sights on Glenroy and at the age of 17, he asked her on their first date. They got married on June 3rd, 1959 and welcomed their first born, Rod, on April 18th, 1960 and within one year of each other, came Ken, Roy and Linda. Carolyn and Glenroy called many places home but settled in Coaldale to raise their family. Carolyn worked in the Coaldale Post Office for many years, then with Barons Eureka Health Unit which was later relocated to Lethbridge Regional Hospital, and from there she retired. Family was everything to Carolyn and Glenroy and spent a lot of time in the West Castle area, camping, hunting, fishing and sitting around the fire. Carolyn had many hobbies, such as, ceramics, painting, needle point, knitting and quilting, just to name a few, and had a very creative mind. She had a witty sense of humour and you were always surprised with her one-line zingers, which would have everyone in stitches! Carolyn was a great cook and with much love and care, always provided delicious meals for family and friend gatherings and always made you feel welcome in their home.
Carolyn and Glenroy decided to move to the Legacy Lodge in Lethbridge, where they would spend their Golden Years. Mom was provided with excellent love and care by all staff, while showing amazing strength, resilience and courage up until her passing. The same amount of love and care is still being provided to Glenroy.
The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation for all the Legacy Lodge and Homecare staff who cared for our mom over the years and continue to care for our dad.
