Posted: April 25th, 2023 ZOBELL August 22, 1943 – April 21, 2023 BRENDA ZOBELL “She was there when I took my first breaths; and I was there when she took her last breaths, I stayed by her side until the end,” with devoted love, Sandie. Brenda passed away at St. Mike’s Palliative Care Unit at the age of 80. She was predeceased by her husband Ed, her son Rick, her parents Owen and Annie Larsen, sisters Carole, Elayne and Camille. Brenda is survived by her daughter Sandie (Brian), daughter-in-law Tammy, daughter Debbie (Rob), grandchildren Taylor Hardekopf (Shay), Shyla Lockhart (Blake), Kyle and Matthew Zobell; great-grandchildren Bentley and Mila Lockhart; brothers Ron and Tom, sisters Luella and Lois and multiple nieces and nephews.
Brenda loved to crochet, read books, travel and was devoted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was always there when she was needed for everyone. She loved her family “to the moon and back.”
Born in Lethbridge but grew up in Raymond, Brenda worked as a data entry operator and also sold fitness equipment. Brenda was dedicated to the care of her husband Ed who was in long-term care for many years. Fondly remembered by her childhood friends and the friends Brenda and Ed met over the years living in Calgary, Sherwood Park, Regina and Lethbridge. Brenda loved animals. She especially loved her dogs Timmy and Jewel and her grandpups. Even though her passing was sudden, Brenda was prepared and was excited to be reunited with her husband, her son and her predeceased family.
Brenda’s daughter, Sandie wishes to thank the staff at the Chinook Regional Hospital, 4B and those at St. Mike’s Palliative Care Unit for their kindness and care as it was comforting. Brenda and Sandie were very appreciative of the Chinook Ward Relief Society’s assistance.
As per Brenda’s request, there will not be a funeral service but the family will have a private burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice or animal rescue organizations.
