1940 – 2023
Delores Ramona Bolen, beloved wife of the late Edward Bolen, passed away peacefully in her sleep in Taber on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at the age of 82 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 – 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 7:00 P.M.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 – 48 Avenue, Taber on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. A private family burial will follow at the Taber Memorial Garden. Condolences may be forwarded by visiting our website at www.southlandfuneral.com.
Delores is survived by her children Denise (Jerry) Heerink of Taber and their children Jordan (Teyara) Heerink, Jelisa (Rusty) Motloch and Janelle Heerink (Austin); Doris (Brad) Odland of Medicine Hat and their children Lexi (Devin) Declercq and Larissa (Jeremey) Kenyon; Ivan (Melissa) Bolen of Hays/Redcliff and children Jared (Tristen) Haddow, Harley Tremblay and Zachary Tremblay; Deanna (Rob) Kolodychuk of Edmonton and their children Damon Kolodychuk and Logan Kolodychuk; great grandchildren Jaxen, Apiphany, Ophelia, Knox, Boh, Isabelle, Branson, Kason, Ryker and Harper. She is also survived by her brother Dale Campbell; in-laws Helen (Al) Zadnik, Harold Bolen, Leonard Bolen, Verna (Butch) Clark, Brian (Maureen) Bolen, Della (Neil) Goruk and Peter Valgardson as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of fifty two years Edward; parents Richard and Louise Campbell; brothers Delbert Campbell and Delmar Campbell; in-laws Andrew and Angeline Bolen; sisters-in-law Helen Campbell, Patty Valgardson, Marie Feldbusch and Margaret Fitzhenry; nephews Byron Campbell and Delbert Campbell.
Delores was born September 30, 1940 in Hanna to Richard and Louise Campbell. She married Edward Bolen on September 24, 1960. They lived in Hays where they raised their four children. After retirement they moved to Taber where Delores was very active in St. Augustine’s Catholic Church as a member of the CWL, volunteering at the hospital and with Meals on Wheels. In 2016 she moved to Clearview Lodge and enjoyed her stay playing bingo, doing crafts and other activities. As well as being a celebrity on the news talking about the lodge during COVID.
Delores will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends as a wonderful mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family and faith in God.
