LIVERSEED, Ruth

LIVERSEED RUTH IRENE LIVERSEED passed away peacefully at West Highlands Care Centre on July 6, 2023 at the age of 100 years.
Ruth was born to Peter and Madeline Rumpel at Mrs. Brown’s Boarding House in Pakowki and raised on the family farm in Etzikom. She was the ‘runt of the litter’ and her future was not guaranteed. Her early years were spent mostly on the farm being pampered by her siblings. Her favorite trick was to get her sisters to smuggle one of the barn kittens into the house without anyone finding out. She had a love for all animals with a special love for horses. She even requested to ride one when the care facility brought horses for the patrons to enjoy. She had a good sense of humor and a feisty personality all along.
She met Arnold Liverseed at a dance, they married in 1945 and they raised three children, Bruce Jay, Judith Ann and Diana Fay. Throughout her years her favorite pastime was music and dancing. She especially enjoyed attending the annual Pemmican Ball and old-time dances.
She was predeceased by her husband Arnold, her sisters Dorothy Wilkinson and Virginia Collins, her brother George, her son Bruce, her granddaughter Wendy, her special friends Angus and Aubrey and many close friends and dancing partners.
She is survived by daughters Judy (Jim) Chow, Diana (Ron) Insley, grandchildren Kerry (Brenda) Chow, Cam Chow, Laurie (Barry) Chow, Monty (Kim) Chow, Debi (Terry) Chow, Nick Hamling, Clint (Jay) Insley and great-grandchildren Ashley, Kristen, Steven, Shane (Tiffany), Tyson, Kayden, Hanna, Aria, Caden; special nephew Dick (Carolyn) Wilkinson, the family historian and great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
As per Ruth’s request there will be no formal service. A family memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, put on some old-time music and have yourself a dance, I know that is what she will be doing.
