Passed away in Lethbridge St. Michael’s Palliative Care Unit on February 28, 2021 at the age of 95 years. Beloved wife of 50 years to the late Frank Schile.
Margaret was born in Raymond, AB raised and educated as they moved between Raymond, Lucky Strick and Foremost with parents Harvey & Florence Douglas and her brothers & sisters who have all passed now.
Harvey & Violet Douglas, Dorothy & Leon Zemp, Helen “Foster” Marsden, Robert “Bob” & Hazel Douglas, Elsworth “Doug” & Ruby Douglas, Roy & Peggy Douglas, Milo & “Barb” & Irene Douglas, DonnaRae Douglas, Pat & Merv Seely.
Margaret Douglas met and married the love of her life Frank Schile on Feb. 12, 1945 in Foremost where they lived on the family farm & raised their family till they retired and moved to Lethbridge in 1990. Children oldest Jay (deceased) & Barb Schile, Elizabeth Cook, Wayne & Carol Schile, Kit (deceased) & Linda Schile, Renae & Jeff Scott, Susan & Larry Penn. Several Grandchildren, Great, Great Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews and great friends who meant the world to her.
She worked as a cook for the County Forty Mile Work Camp crew, Foremost Hotel Restaurant and Elks Club in Lethbridge. Was involved in CWL in Foremost since she was married then in Lethbridge until she was unable to drive. Volunteered at St. Mike’s Hospital when moved to Lethbridge. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, reupholstering furniture, lapidary, woodworking at Senior Centre made 3 dressers. Also enjoyed floor curling, crib & joined Seniors Choir. She had a real talent for writing poetry. She was firm but tender and the children were drawn to her, loved being around her and learning new things with her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her quick wit and charm.
Join us Saturday, July 15 at 10:00 am at Mountainview Cemetery 1210 Scenic Drive South. Celebration of Life blessing of the grave by Father Derek. Lunch and snacks to follow at Renae’s house.
