THOMPSON, Maurice “Moe”
Posted: September 6th, 2023 THOMPSON
Maurice (Moe) Solvin Thompson of Lethbridge, Alberta, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2023 at the age of 80. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Gloria Thompson, their daughter Dayna (Dennis) Mullen, and three cherished grandchildren, Emma, Koen, and Aleah. He is also remembered by so many others in his life, including Valerie Hodge, nephew Andy (Jen), sisters Shirley and Nola, and a legion of cousins and friends alike.
Moe spent his youth on the farm near Camrose and later moved to Edmonton. Moe and Gloria were married in Camrose, lived briefly in Prince Rupert, and settled the family in Lethbridge where he spent his days working hard, playing hard, loving life with his family, and camping and fishing when he could.
Throughout his life, Moe loved his mini schnauzer companions and formed countless friendships and acquaintances. If you wanted to engage in a lively conversation, he was the person to turn to. Moe’s last months were supported by the dedicated nurses at Chinook Regional Hospital and we thank them and all his friends and family who have been keeping him company. He defied the odds, enduring more than most over the last 2 years due to the unwavering love and care of his soulmate Gloria.
Moe’s memory will be cherished by all those who knew him. His impact on the lives he touched will be remembered fondly and with gratitude. He leaves behind a legacy of connections, conversations, and the warmth of his spirit.
We will be celebrating Moe’s life the way he would want, by mingling and socializing with family and friends on September 10, 2023, from 1-4 pm at The Place, 420 6 St S. Lethbridge, AB.
