SKRETTING, Janet
Posted: January 3rd, 2024 Janet Lyn Skretting was born on April 15, 1964 in the Chinook Regional Hospital to parents, Carol (nee: Wright) and Edwin Skretting. She passed away in the same Hospital, on Saturday, December 30, 2023, a few months shy of her 60th birthday.
She was raised on the farm in Circle Hill, AB with her brother, Marvin “Scurvy” Skretting; also surrounded by Cousins, Aunts and Uncles she held dear. She moved to Vauxhall with Carol in her teenage years, endlessly enjoying a house full of friends. They all enjoyed softball and curling at every opportunity, and Janet excelled at both.
Janet moved to Lethbridge, AB to the Westminster neighborhood she loved, and raised her daughters, Shantel Delon (Ryan) Kutanzi, Tanya (Kevin) Baker, and Deena (Ben) Baker. She shared the last decade of her life with her life-long friend, turned companion, Darren “Dog” Wourms. They both lived for time spent with her Grandchildren, Teagin & Raelyn Kutanzi, as well as Randi & Ronan Chrupka.
Her house wasn’t filled with music, however; no one dared speak over curling on TV, or over her gardening show on 770. Her house was a landing pad for all family in Lethbridge for any reason. Coffee was served black and strong. She was the mom kids moved back to. Tanya overjoyed her by coming home to start her family; Deena moved into a home on the block to share the cats they both loved.
Janet’s body took us all by surprise and abruptly failed her. However, her strength allowed us to be with her to congregate in love for her final moments.
We know she will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Janet will be received with love by her father, grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who predeceased her.

Sorry for the loss. I still remember her from when we worked at the SANDMAN INN in 1983-84? She was fun working with.
