INNES, Joan
Posted: January 5th, 2024 INNES It is with deep sadness that the family of JOAN INNES announce her peaceful passing at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Monday, December 4, 2023.
Joan is survived by her son, Mark (Beth) of Calgary, and her son-in-law, John Stanek of Red Deer, in addition to four grandchildren — Lauren Stanek, Matthew Stanek, Aubrey Innes and Adelee Innes.
She was predeceased her siblings including Jerry Traviss, Judy McEvoy and Jean Wynn.
Joan was the first of four children born to Charlie and Grace Traviss in Penticton in 1932.
For all those who have been fortunate to know Joan, it was her sense of humour that set her apart. She had a lifetime of love and fun with her friends, family and Bridge Clubs (hope she doesn’t owe anyone any money…haha).
Joan volunteered for 25 years at Lethbridge Regional Hospital and St. Michael’s Health Centre. Friends will also know that Joan, through her husband, Jack, was involved in Eastern Star for more than 20 years. Jack passed away in December 1999, and was Joan’s life-long friend and sweetheart. They raised two children, Leslie Stanek (deceased) and Mark Innes.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Joan at NIKKA YUKO JAPANESE GARDEN, 835 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Friday, January 12th, 2024, from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.

I had the pleasure of Joan’s friendship at the jewellery store I worked at and we seem to cross paths at the gas pumps. Yes a lovely person full of life. My condolences to John Stanek and all the family and other friends.
