ELVES, John

ELVES John Alexander Elves of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Echo for 51 years, passed away with his family by his side on January 7, 2024, at the St. Michael’s Palliative Care Unit at the age of 78 years.
Besides his loving wife Echo, John is missed by his son Brad (Shannon), daughters Rebecca, Roberta, Jennifer (Ben) Boehr and granddaughters Carly and Adalyn Boehr. His kids were the best thing in his life, he truly loved each of them. Carly was the delight of his life and Adalyn was the joy of his life.
John is also survived by his brother Dr. Emmett (Karen) Elves, his sister Marie (Joe) Bialkowski, his sister-in-law Lucille (Bruce) Hetherington and many nephews and nieces.
John was an inspiration to all who knew him and respected by all. He valued his time spent with friends.
John met Echo at a Swinging Singles Square Dance in the fall of 1970. They were married on June 24, 1972 in Bellevue, Alberta and together they raised their four children.
He had a successful 40 years in lumber and hardware retail. He managed Beaver Lumber Stores in Alberta and B.C. He spent his last 13 years with Peavey Mart managing the Wetaskiwin and High River stores. His retirement was really about appreciating and enjoying his family.
John loved his flowers, gardening with his granddaughters, woodworking and working on family tree history. When you see a flower, slow down and observe the beauty and think of John.
A Prayer Services will held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Christensen Salmon Generations Funeral Home beginning at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at St. Basil’s Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 a.m. (604 – 13 Street North, Lethbridge)
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Michael’s Palliative Care Unit.
