WITBECK Debra G. Witbeck, age 70, of Raymond AB, surround by family, passed away peacefully at the Raymond hospital on January 19, 2024.
Debra was born on September 27, 1953 in Raymond AB. After graduating from Raymond High School in 1971, she attended Ricks College in Idaho, moving onto Provo Utah for a short time. After returning to Raymond in 1978, she met and married her future and current husband LeRay Witbeck in the Cardston Temple and became an instant mother to her two sons Michael and Scott. Debbie and LeRay moved to Edmonton in 1981, until 2004 until she when retired from a 25-year career in the dentistry profession. Debra and LeRay spent the next 2 years living in High Prairie AB, moving onto Airdrie AB in 2006, before returning to her childhood home of Raymond AB in 2018. From 2001 – 2017 Debra and LeRay found paradise at Christina Lake BC, and several long-term friendships were made.
Debra was a dedicated and lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many leadership roles throughout her life. She had a great number of hobbies and interests including gardening, baking, crocheting, reading, visiting with friends and family and was passionate about family history, spending countless hours researching and documenting her many relatives.
Debra was predeceased by brothers Tom, Brian and Mother and Father Inez and Roy Hall. She is survived by husband LeRay, sons Michael and Scott (wife Jodi, daughters Taylor and Keira), Sister Nicola (Randy), brothers Monte, Darsey (Kendra) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00pm on Friday January 26th at the Raymond Cobblestone Chapel (27 Cobblestone Lane), with the graveside service being held with family members prior to. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, or the Arthritis Society of Canada.
