BRUNSDON, Edward “Ted”
Posted: March 13th, 2024 EDWARD “TED” BRUNSDON 1937 – 2024 After increasingly frail health, Ted passed quietly from earthly life to eternal life in the early hours of Friday, March 8, 2024, at the age of 86 years.
Ted was born May 25, 1937, in Prince George, B.C to parents Edward and Myrtle Brunsdon. His sister Beth arrived a few years later to complete the family. The vocational choice of his parents meant frequent moves and school changes. He graduated from Bedford Road High School, in Saskatoon, then earned the designation of Chartered Accountant from Queens University, Canada.
Ted married Beulah Jackson in Toronto on June 12, 1961. They would have celebrated their 63rd anniversary in several months. As his parents did, Ted also made vocational choices that meant numerous family moves. He experienced life in 5 provinces as well as the state of Oregon. Vacations always meant travel, most often throughout Canada, most often by road.
Unlike many, Ted realized his teenage dream of being a long- distance truck driver. For the last 12 years of employment he worked for H&R Transport and wore his “1 million accident-free miles” jacket with pride.
Throughout his entire life, Ted was a volunteer, often using his accounting skills to help others. He would volunteer on church boards, with service clubs, and performed personal acts of kindness as they arose. Most recently that included Habitat for Humanity, The Rio Vista Condominium Board, LSCO as a bus driver and the Gospel Messenger choir. Then of course coffee three times weekly with the Smitty’s coffee group had top priority!
Besides his loving wife, Beulah, Ted is survived by his 2 sons Edward Stanley “Ward” and Douglas Gregory “Greg” (Dana); several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister Grace Elizabeth “Beth” Coulter (Howard); and nieces Deborah Blackman and Leanne Colledge.
He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Myrtle.
