EAKETT, Dagan
Posted: May 9th, 2024 Dagan Eakett 2002-2024 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our son and brother Dagan Lee Eakett, May 3, 2024 in Calgary at the age of 21.
Dagan was born September 9, 2002 in Lethbridge, Alberta and lived most of his young life in Raymond. He is the beloved son of Doug and Crystal Eakett and Mandy Kindt, and big brother and biggest tease to little Theo.
Dagan came into the world a chubby little bundle of joy! He was so loved by his parents. As a boy, he was incredibly friendly and loved to talk. He had a gift for connecting with people and brightened lives with his happy spirit.
He was passionate about sports, especially hockey, baseball and golf. Dagan started playing hockey as a young boy and was supposed to play in a tournament on the day of his death. He recently discovered a love of golf and loved to play with many friends and family. He had a keen mind, he could tell you facts about any hockey player, especially his beloved Edmonton Oilers. We will miss his animated conversations about hockey with his uncles.
Dagan attended school in Raymond and was active in the band program and track and field. He was especially good at shot put and discus throw. Following graduation Dagan worked at a couple of different jobs in Calgary before settling in at his job in the family business in Lethbridge. He was his dad’s right-hand man and looked forward to being a partner and owner in the years to come.
Dagan made friends easily and loved to get together at the basketball courts and sporting events. He had a wonderful group of friends who loved and supported Dagan and stood right by his side until the very end.
Nine months ago, Dagan met the love of his life, Kinae Wallis. His time was devoted to her, and they made many wonderful memories.
He will be remembered for his friendly way, his big hugs and his incredible laugh.
Dagan was so loved and will be missed by the love of his life Kinae Wallis and their baby to be born in December, his parents Doug and Crystal Eakett and Mandy Kindt, brother Theo Eakett, Grandparents Brian and Lori Eakett and Monte and Kate Kindt. As well he leaves to mourn his Great Grandma Anita Begieneman and Nana Jen Peterson, along with many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and close friends. He was predeceased by his Uncle Steve Kindt and Great Grandparents who knew and loved him.
Friends may meet the family at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Raymond Stake Centre, 2 N 200 W on Friday, May 10th, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and on Saturday May 11th, from 10:45 – 11:45 am. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm.
