TOKAI JOSEPH “JOE” TOKAI, beloved husband of Shirley Tokai of Picture Butte passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, May 27, 2024 at the age of 90 years.
Besides his loving wife, Shirley, Joseph is survived by his children: Doug Tokai of Lethbridge, Brenda (Ray) Leavitt of Lethbridge, Ron (Richelle) Tokai of Picture Butte, Brian Tokai (Darlene) of Lethbridge, Randy (Karen) Tokai of Calgary, and Sandra Tokai of Picture Butte. Joseph is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Davies; sister-in-law, Brigitte Tokai; brothers-in-law, Eddie Davies and Howard (Lana) Tonge; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Gary Tokai; grandson, Derek Tokai; son-in-law, Dan Forsyth; parents, Gabor and Barbara Tokai; sisters, Bernadette Nagy, Mary Davies, and Margaret Tokai; and brothers, Gabor Tokai and Steve Tokai.
Joe was born in Hill Spring, AB, March 26, 1934. He moved to Picture Butte at the age of five and spent his remaining years in Picture Butte, working and raising his large family with Shirley.
A Visitation will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Joe’s life at the PICTURE BUTTE COMMUNITY CENTRE, 607 Hwy Avenue N, Picture Butte, AB on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 1:00 P.M.
