CHRUPKA, Rose 1933 – 2024 Rose Chrupka, age 90, passed away on June 11, 2024 at Chinook Regional Hospital surrounded by loving family.
Her legacy will be cherished by her children, Gail (Doug) Kirkman of Coleman AB, Randy Chrupka and Kelly (Terri) Chrupka both of Turin AB; as well as her seven devoted grandchildren: Mat (Jacklynn) Elfring, Stacey (Tyler) Olsen, Kerby (Pat) Pyne, Kelsey (Nic) Chrupka, Kevin (Tanya) Chrupka, Ian (Jalene) Chrupka, and Eric Chrupka. Rose is also survived by ten great- grandchildren, whom she treasured dearly.
She was predeceased by her husband Louis in 1989: and her siblings: Frank (Emily) Bilcik, Arnie (Bob) Kemmet, Agnes (Dennis) Dudley, Helen (Tony) Mikula, and Marie (Eric) Smith.
Rose was born August 3, 1933 in Tilley, AB to Michael and Mary Bilcik. Michael later purchased a farm in Turin and the family made Turin their home. Rose and her 5 siblings worked hard on the family farm. Rose, being the youngest, spent a lot of time with her mother in the kitchen. She became an excellent cook, as anyone who had a meal at the farm will attest to.
In 1954, she married Louis Chrupka and became a Farmer’s Wife. She loved life on the farm and was proud of this fact to the very end. Farm life brought with it long winters, where Rose and Louis spent countless nights playing cards with their many friends. Rose was an excellent poker player, and she was proud of getting a “perfect hand” in crib.
Rose and Louis retired to Coaldale where they expanded their circle of friends. After Louis passed in 1989, Rose spent time travelling with friends. She enjoyed visiting family and taking long walks. She loved her walks and was disheartened by bad weather when she couldn’t get outside. She also loved going back out to the farm – farming always stayed with her.
Our mother was a beautiful woman, both inside and out. We will remember her by her quiet strength and dignity.
She rests forever in all our hearts. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. For those who wish to share condolences, please visit www.generationsfh.ca
