On July 26, 2024, Garnet ROY Ferguson, loving husband, and father, passed away in Edmonton at the age of 88.  Roy was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on January 27, 1936, and grew up in Barnwell on the family farm. Roy joined the RCAF in 1955 for three years. In 1959 he began work with Canadian Western Natural Gas in Cardston, where he met his future wife, Ruth Powlesland. Roy and Ruth were married November 1, 1963. They lived in Cardston, Foremost bow Island, and Brooks, where he retired. Roy was very active in the community both playing and coaching softball and hockey.  He and Ruth loved camping in the back country of the Alberta Rockies. Some of their best memories are camping with friends and family.  Roy was also an avid golfer. He and Ruth spent many afternoons on a variety of courses in Alberta.

Roy is survived by his son Garnet Ferguson, and his daughter Jacquie Browne (Rob Hunking); granddaughters, Kaitlyn MacLeod (Michael), and Kourtney Derewlanka (Jeff) and grandson, Cole Ferguson, and great grandchildren Kalista, Waverly, Kamille, Gabriel, and Xavier. He was predeceased by his loving wife Ruth Ferguson, his parents Daisy and David Ferguson, his brothers Walter (Scotty), David, and Richard, his brothers-in-law Art Watmough and Bernie Powlesland.
