DOUGLAS BERRY 1950 – 2024 Douglas James Berry of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Diana Lynn Berry passed away suddenly at home on August 21, 2024, at the age of 73 years.
Doug was the third son of Frank and Doris Berry. Being raised in Waterton Park created a deep-rooted love for the outdoors which included skiing, golf, fishing, and taking trips on the open road. On July 27, 1991, Doug married Diana and his enthusiasm for life and adventure extended into their many years together.
Doug was known for his great love of high-performance vehicles, most notably motorcycles, which resulted in extensive travel throughout Canada and the US. His 30-year commitment to teaching motorcycle riding at Lethbridge Polytechnic afforded him the joy of working with and motivating students to learn to ride with confidence and excitement. Doug also served as Maintenance Supervisor for Housing Services at the University of Lethbridge for over 21 years. After his retirement, Doug’s penchant for ensuring everything he touched was left in good condition led him to Sport Chek where he worked part-time in the repair department.
Besides his loving wife Diana, Doug is survived by his son John (Bernadine) Wojtowicz; his brother Robert (Dani) Berry; sisters-in-law Shirley (Glen) Berry and Sharee (Peter) Berry; as well as his extended family.
