HANSON, Glen
Posted: August 30th, 2024 HANSON GLEN DAVID HANSON, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Patricia Hanson, passed away after a brief illness, at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the age of 82 years.
Glen is survived by his son Tulsa (Sandra) Hanson and grandchildren, Hayden Hanson and Maiya Hanson, all of Lethbridge; and son Trevis (Melissa) Hanson and grandson, Lincoln Hanson, all of Okotoks.
Besides his loving wife Patricia in November 2023, he was predeceased by his father Francis Hanson, mother Mary Hanson, sister Francis Hanson, sister Margaret Johnson; and brother Wynne Hanson.
Glen’s father, Francis, was a Canadian soldier who served overseas during WWII. It was during this time that Francis met Glen’s mother, Mary, a proud Scotswoman with a kind heart and fiery spirit. Glen was born in Kent County, UK, on April 9, 1942. Just before turning two, Glen and his family returned to Francis’ home in Red Deer, Alberta. He enjoyed an adventurous, and often mischievous youth, between growing up in Red Deer and attending college in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Glen learned the value of hard work at an early age, and carried this ethic through the entirety of his working life. Glen had a successful career in finance, serving in many capacities with a number of banking institutions. His last post was as the branch manager of the Taber Bank of Nova Scotia until his retirement in 1997.
Glen met and married Pat in August 1969, and Tulsa was born in May 1971, and Trevis in December 1974. Though having had a very successful career in banking and finance, Glen had many additional talents, particularly in carpentry and construction. He was always willing to lend a hand, helping a neighbor or his sons with their childhood and adult projects.
He is dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
In accordance with his wishes, no funeral service will be held.
