CHIEF MOON With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our Beautiful sister, mother, niece and friend KAYLA JO CHIEF MOON – ACROSS THE MOUNTAIN, “Sooyopoksakii”.
Kayla passed on September 4, 2024 on the Blood Reserve at the tender age of 33 years. Kayla was born on January 30, 1991 in Lethbridge to the late Ronald and Rosemary (Chief Moon) Across The Mountain. Left to mourn Kayla’s passing are her children, Marcus, Mackenzie, Mason and Skylar. Her sisters Lorena Many Shots, Cassie White Man, Kendra Across The Mountain and Misty McNabb. Aunt’s Evelyn Across The Mountain (Patrick), Christine (Melvin) White Man and Ethel (Leonard) Chief Moon. Uncles, Duane Chief Moon, Alvin Crazy Bull and Malcom Eagle Speaker and her mother in law Geraldine McNabb (Rick) and family. Kayla was predeceased by her parents Ronald and Rose Mary, her love Tim White Man Left, grandparents Martin and Theresa (ATM) Hairy Bull, Moyra Chief Moon, Bernard and Ella (Chief Moon) Shot Both Sides. Also mourning Kayla’s are her many relatives in Across The Mountain, Hairy Bull, Chief Moon, Shot Both Sides as well as her many friends. Kayla will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.
A Wake Service will be held on Friday, September 13 at Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve from 7:00 – 11:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 14 at Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve at 12:00 pm. The Interment will take place in Pioneer Cemetery, Levern.
