Posted: December 21st, 2024 SELK, Debra Kim Aug. 16, 1956 – Dec. 14, 2024 Debra Selk passed away in her sleep on December 14, 2024, at her home she shared with her husband of 43 years, Dennis.
Deb was born in 1956, the youngest in a family of 13.
She is the mother of Joanne Gregson (Alex) and Page (Brendan) Maruyama, and grandmother to Jace, Ben, Max, Davis, and Charlie.
Debra is also survived by two special nieces, Penny Elford and Kelly Gusa, she is survived by her brothers Melford (Emma), Selby (Sylvia), Lorne (Shannon) and Jamie Fredrick, and her sisters Therese Szentes and Carol Vanhausen. She is also survived by her in-laws, Laura Steinhoff, Dean Selk, Roxie Orcutt and Gerry Selk (Barb) as well as many nieces and nephews.
Deb’s work life began in high school as an A&W car hop followed by several years at Enersons. She was a stay at home Mom, until her daughters were well-established school girls. Debra then worked at the HAIG Clinic, until her retirement in 2017.
Debra lived a quiet, normal life focused on her family. She was witty, enjoyed a good prank, growing flowers in her yard, family gatherings and planning Christmas every year. She loved time spent with her two beautiful daughters and five fantastic grandsons.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal memorial service. The family will gather over the holidays to remember her privately.
