Gordon was born on May 26, 1931, in Cardston, Alberta to J. Golden Snow and Eunice Lybbert. From a young age, he developed a deep love for sports, especially basketball. He played on the Union Jacks men’s league team and later coached many youth teams to championship victories, leaving a lasting impact on the young athletes he guided.

Together, Gordon and Barbara raised four children: Dale (Valerie), Marla (Don), Maureen (Gary), and Todd (Loni). Gordon was immensely proud of his growing posterity, which includes 17 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Gordon spent his life farming and ranching south of Raymond, a life he loved and never strayed far from. He treasured his relationships with friends and neighbours, always ready for a warm visit and good conversation.
