JENSEN Alan Ross Jensen, beloved husband and high school sweetheart of Eldora “Pudge” Jensen, passed away in Raymond, Alberta on July 6, 2025 at the age of 79.
Ross was born and raised in Raymond. He loved the town of Raymond and chose to live his whole life there except for a 2-year mission in Quebec for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and studying education at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. He had a wonderful career teaching for Lethbridge District 51 at Galbraith, Park Meadows and Allan Watson. Ross also operated ARJ Painting for many years.
Giving back to the community he loved was important to Ross. His life was spent volunteering. He served in many LDS church callings, 20 years in Rotary, 40 years with the Raymond Public Library, and 20 plus years with Raymond Soccer for which he was inducted into the Raymond Sports Hall of Fame. He met his eternal companion Pudge in Raymond and they enjoyed 58 wonderful years together.
Like his mother Jeannine, Ross loved to sing and often sang along to his guitar. For many years as the kids were growing up, he loved taking his family to the Raymond Home and also to Ridgeview Lodge to sing. He also enjoyed the last few years where he would help organize and M.C. the Raymond Carol Festival that highlighted the musical talent of Raymond.
Ross loved people. He only saw the good in people. He only ever said good things about people. Your name was safe with Ross. He was kind to all he met, showed genuine interest in their lives, and always said a friendly hello.
Ross was a faithful and devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and often shared his testimony with his family and friends. The “Ross Report” has been cherished by friends, family and missionaries around the world.
Ross is survived by his loving wife, Pudge Jensen (nee Hicken), and his six children – Dustin (Sina) Jensen, Tara (Russell) Banz, Darin (Lyndi) Jensen, Matt (Twila) Jensen, Will (Paula) Jensen, and Adam (Wendy) Jensen and their 35 grand-children. He is also survived by his siblings Maxine, Mark, Sheri, Scott, and Kim. Ross was predeceased by his parents Allan and Jeannine Jensen (nee Wilde) and his grandson Griffin Jensen.
The Jensen family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the medical staff at the Raymond Hospital for their care of Ross leading up to his passing. They would also like to thank many in the community of Raymond for their friendship, love and support of Ross throughout his life.
A “Meet the Family” will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 6:30-8:30pm followed by a Memorial Service on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 11:00am. Both events will be held at the Cobblestone building (27 Cobblestone Lane) of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Raymond, Alberta.
