AMBROZIC, Mirko
Posted: August 29th, 2025 MIRKO AMBROZIC 1933 ~ 2025 It is with great sadness that the family of Mirko (Mike) Ambrozic announce his passing on Thursday August 21, 2025.
Mirko was born on November 21, 1933 in Bled, Slovenia where he enjoyed growing up near a beautiful lake in the mountains. He studied to be a journeyman carpenter and relocated to Canada in his early twenties. While living in Lethbridge, he met the love of his life, Antonia Hribar, and they raised 3 children, Evelyn, Caroline and Richard. A hardworking, skilled carpenter and foreman, he led many projects including 6 cherished family homes. He was a talented gymnast and skier, and enjoyed watching sports such as hockey, soccer and wrestling.
Mirko had a wonderful smile, great sense of humor, and loved to make people laugh. He was extremely generous and loved his wife and family above all else.
Mirko is survived by his sister-in-laws Ann Dimnik and Betty Hribar; daughters Evelyn (Peter) Watson, Caroline (John) Hatcher; son Dr. Rick Ambrozic; grandchildren Daniel (Tess), Christopher, Michael, Kimberly (James), Bradley, and Nicholas; great grandchildren James, Theodore, and Harper, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Antonia and siblings Justi and Alojz.
A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00am Saturday, August 30, 2025 at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405-12 Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta.
