TOMITA, Dorothy

TOMITA DOROTHY SUMIKO TOMITA, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at the Legacy Lodge on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at the age of 92 years.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years, Shizuo (Suzi); her children, Patti (Brian) Wright and Rod (Nica); her grandchildren: Brad (Robbyn), Rob (Grace), Tyler (Michele), Ryan, and Suzi; honourary daughter, Shelley (Mark) Murakami; and eight great-grandchildren: Rowen, Weston, Oakley, Porter, Lennon, Logan, Decker and Noah. She is also survived by her sister, May Nishikawa.
Dorothy will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and deep love for family. A talented gardener, cook, baker, and seamstress, she created a warm and beautiful home filled with love and joy.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the second-floor care staff at Legacy Lodge and to Dr. Garland Jonker for their exceptional care and compassion.
A Come and Go Celebration of life will be held at NIKKA YUKO BUNKA CENTRE, 835 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., with a short service at 4:30 P.M.
