REYNARD, Kenneth George May 14, 1945 ~ October 17, 2025 It is with great sadness the family of Kenneth Reynard announces his passing on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the age of 80 years after a continuous decline of his health.
Ken was born in Kenora, Ontario, on May 14, 1945. He is predeceased by his loving wife Bev; his parents, Joseph and Anne; brothers, Brian, Ed, Ray; sisters-in-law, Thelma Reynard and Margaret Dowswell; and brother-in-law, Donald Chartrand.
Left to cherish his memory are Ken’s son, Kevin and his wife Deborah; and his daughter, Nicole and her partner Sean Gerstenbuhler; his grandchildren, Kevin, Heather (Dimitri), Mathew, Hannah, Rowan, Preston, Elise, Ferris, Debora and Jeremy; and his great grand-daughter, Brinley; his sister, Joanne Norlen; and brother, Warren (Sharon) Reynard; as well as sisters-in-law Jeanne Chartrand and Joyce Reynard. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family, friends, and of course, his beloved puppy, Abby.
Ken met the love of his life, Bev, at age 15, and after 6 years of courtship, they were married on May 21st, 1966. Ken worked at the local paper mill MANDO (Minnesota Ontario Pulp and Paper Company) which then changed names numerous times over time. During his career, he worked his way up to management and retired as a finishing floor supervisor. This gave him the opportunity to see some of the world (Finland, and parts of the US) to garner new techniques in the paper industry.
Ken loved working with his hands, especially woodworking. He built everything from a carport to Muskoka chairs to sheds to furniture. Always offering to help friends, neighbours, and family whenever possible. He never passed up the opportunity to lend his expertise with projects and many people have benefited from this. There are many pieces of furniture he built that can still be found in homes in Kenora.
Ken was never the same after the loss of his “Bride”, Bev. This was often how he referred to her throughout their 56 years of marriage. He missed her dearly and it was evident to all that visited him or spoke with him over the past few years. Now he is with her, and resting in peace.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for all the support and kindness received over the past few years during Ken’s health struggles. We are especially grateful to his great-niece, Stephanie (Smith) Bryan and to his homecare support worker, Andrea.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Canadian Lung Association (www.lung.ca)
