CLAYTON SOICE 1929 ~ 2025 With great sadness, the family announces the peaceful passing of Clayton Soice, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was surrounded by the love of his entire family.
Clayton is survived by his children: Gary (Cathie), Douglas (Catherine), Daryl, Linda (Kevin) Douglas and Shelley (Todd) Gibson; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren; sisters Delvoir Longair; Marjorie (Howard) Anderson; sister-in-law Kay Gorrill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy, with whom he shared a loving marriage of 52 years until she passed in 2004; brother LeRoy (Riny) Soice; brother-in-law Ernest Longair; nephew Randy Longair; sister-in-law Glenna Gorrill; and brothers-in-law Harry Gorrill and Jerry Gorrill.
Raised on the family farm in Warner, Alberta, Clayton developed an enduring passion for farming and ranching. He dedicated more than 77 years to the land and the herd before moving to Lethbridge. Even after his move, the farm was always on his mind. He frequently returned to Warner to check the crops, lend a hand during branding, and repair machinery. Clayton’s legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren, who carry forward his strong work ethic, deep agricultural knowledge, and genuine love for the land.
Known for his quick wit and sense of humour, Clayton had a remarkable ability to bring laughter and warmth to those around him. He was a true gentleman who was deeply loved, is profoundly missed, and will forever remain in our hearts.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff and residents at Black Rock Terrace; home care aides; EMS workers; and Dr. Johan Meyer for their compassionate care during Clayton’s final days.
A private inurnment and celebration of life will be held for Clayton on Wednesday, November 5th.
