Vickie passed on November 25, 2025 at 67 years old, following a long and courageous battle with cancer, at St. Michael’s Health Centre surrounded by her beloved family.
Vickie was born in Coaldale Alberta on February 26, 1958 and is predeceased by her parents Ken & Ruby Yamamoto. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 38 years Ken Nakagama; children Kendra Nakagama, Kyle Nakagama & Kate Godfrey; sisters and brothers Amy & Vic Stasiuk and Kerby & Rshmi Yamamoto; aunt May Matsumiya; sisters- and brothers-in-law Rita & (John – deceased) Aoki, Sue & Dick Yamamoto, Carol & Mas Tomomitsu, and Mary & Mal Clewes; alongside many nieces and nephews.
Vickie earned an accounting degree from the University of Lethbridge and dedicated 45 years to her clients and the family business R. Nakagama Co. Her compassion for helping others, ability to remember everyone, and unwavering commitment to her work and community continues to inspire all that knew her.
Vickie had lifelong passions for golf, curling, travel, and endless crafts including sewing, knitting, and quilting. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and her many friends. She always had something creative in the works for an upcoming birthday or Christmas present.
Vickie is remembered for her unwavering strength, optimistic outlook on life, and easygoing nature – qualities that made her a steadfast, loving, and devoted friend and family matriarch. She made a positive difference in the lives of all who got to know her and will be deeply missed.
We extend our gratitude to Drs. Imbulgoda and Walsh, and the doctors, nurses and staff of Chinook Regional Hospital and St Michael’s Health Center for their exceptional care and compassion. We also wish to thank our family and friends for their love and support.
