OLIVE AUDREY GREEN 1930 – 2025 Olive Audrey Green passed away peacefully at St. Therese Villa, Lethbridge, Alberta on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
Olive was born on November 27, 1930, at Doncaster, Yorkshire, England to Herbert and Sarah Butler. She was the eldest of three daughters. From a young age Olive enjoyed art and music and continued these hobbies throughout her life. It was thru music that Mom and Dad met while playing violin in a youth orchestra. They married in 1955 and soon after immigrated to Canada settling in the Toronto area and then Lethbridge in 1978.
Mom pursued her interest in art joining various arts guilds /clubs in Toronto, Mississauga and then Lethbridge. She was a long-standing member of the Lethbridge visual arts community including board member of the Southern Alberta Art Gallery Association and Alberta Foundation for the Arts. A painter in watercolours and acrylic, her work is enjoyed in numerous private collections as well as in the University of Lethbridge and Alberta Foundation for the Arts permanent collections. Mom and Dad were also long time supporters of the Lethbridge Symphony Association.
Mom is survived by her daughters, Dianne (Charles) Clark of Edmonton, Sandra (Paul) Coe of Lethbridge; her son Andrew (Nina) Green of Delta, BC and six grandchildren (Duane and Jeffrey Clark; Michael and Derek Sordi; Christopher and Rachel Green) as well as numerous loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Peter in 2013, parents Herbert and Sarah Butler and sisters Mabel Shaw and Julia Butler Plewes.
A special thank you to the healthcare team at St Therese Villa for Mom’s exceptional care during the final three years of her life.
The family asks that in lieu of cards or flowers, donations be made to The Lethbridge Symphony Association or The Southern Alberta Art Gallery.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, January 16, 2026, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 ST S, LETHBRIDGE. The service will be livestreamed and may be watched online at https://www.mbfunerals.com/obituaries/green/olive
