MYKYTIUK It is with great sadness that we announce that MRS. DONNA JOLAYNNE MYKYTIUK, of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Edward Mykytiuk passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the age of 85 years.
Donna was born August 30, 1940, in Lethbridge. Donna took her elementary and high school education in Lethbridge, she excelled at math, typing and accounting and went on to become a business teacher. In the early years, she taught at Picture Butte High School and Lethbridge Collegiate Institute and in her later years, she moved to the Lethbridge Community College. Throughout her career, Donna loved interacting with students and often mentioned them in her post retirement years.
Donna is survived by her children, Blayne Thomas and Jill (Bruce) Cassidy; grandchildren, Brennan (Adrianna) Cassidy and Sarah Cassidy; brother Shane (Dianne) Porter; nephew Thomas Porter (Holly Dalton); niece Laura (Gabor) Bart; great-nephew Brandon Bart and great-niece Victoria Bart; as well dear friends, Ron (Twyla) Hleucka.
Besides her loving husband Ed, Donna was also predeceased by her parents, William and Lois Porter.
Our Mom, sister and grandma will be forever loved and cherished in our hearts. We will miss her deeply and continue to remember special times together. Donna was the happiest when surrounded by her family (even when we would be loud bunch and drive her crazy with teasing!). She particularly enjoyed camping with Ed and their friends, events at the Italian Canadian Club, outings with her brother (Timbits!!), doing puzzles and time with her son, daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend thanks to the Healthcare Staff at Good Samaritan Park Meadows Village for Mom’s care during her time there, and the staff at Garden View during her brief stay. Thank you to Dr. Cunningham for care the last few years and Dr. Koegler for care over many years as her family doctor.
There will be no formal funeral service. A private interment with immediate family only will be held.
