Erna Job (nee Stickelmier) of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, November 14th, 2012 at the age of 90. Erna leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Joan (Ken) Hoffman of Calgary, and Bernice Paulson of St. Albert; three grandchildren; five great grand children; one sister, Tillie Krassman; one brother, Voldy (DeLores) Stickelmier; two sister-in-laws, Olinda Stickelmier and Linda Stickelmier all of Medicine Hat; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Erna was predecessed by her husband, Louis; her parents, Jacob and Matilda Stickelmier; a son-in-law, Howard Paulson; two brothers, Henry and Ewald; two brother-in-laws, Albert Klaudt and Tony Krassman; two nephews, Barry and Carmen Stickelmier; one niece, JoAnne Stickelmier. Erna was born on August 15th, 1922 in Russia. At the age of six Erna, her parents and siblings immigrated to Canada. In 1939, she married Louis Job, and they made their residence on the Job homestead in the Burstall area. In 1945, Louis and Erna moved into Burstall and in 1960 to Medicine Hat where they lived until 2005 when they relocated to Calgary. Erna was a dedicated wife and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She really enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting, knitting, sewing, as well as gardening and fishing. Erna will be sadly missed by her family and many good friends. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at ST. PETERS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 758 – 8th Street SE, on Monday from 12:30 to 1:25 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at ST. PETERS LUTHERAN CHURCH on Monday, November 19th, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Julianna Wehrfritz-Hanson officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Hillside Cemetery. Memorial gifts in Ernas memory may be made to St. Peters Lutheran Church, 758 – 8th Street SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 1M5, or to the charity of ones choice. I would like to express my sympathy for the loss of your mother. I don’t remember her very well but you can see her beauty in her smile in the picture. The last time I saw you two was at Burstall Homecoming and I know how appreciative my mom was to see you. I am sorry I am not able to be at the funeral. Take care, my friends.
