Martha Job of Medicine Hat, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at the age of 100 years, beloved wife of the late Louie Job. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, John (Joyce) Job of Sylvan Lake, Bud (Leona) Job of Medicine Hat; a daughter-in-law, Betty Job of Medicine Hat; ten grandchildren, Darlene, Allen, Brenda (George), Russell (Kathy), Sandra (Tom), Jerome (Val), Bonnie (Stu), Marlene (Richard), Janet (Brian) and Marena (Jim); numerous great and great great grandchildren; one brother, Gust Bitz; one sister, Esther Befus; two sisters-in-law, Lydia McAndrews and Ella Bitz as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her parents, Christina and Jacob Bitz; her husband Louie on April 6, 1983; one son Jack on July 21, 2010; grandsons, David Job, 1979, Darrel Job 1983; twin granddaughters, Katherine and Martha, 1973; brothers, Jake, Phil, Ray, Albert, John and Art Bitz; sisters, Minnie Schlaht, Christina Ruck, Annie Hertz and Bertha Anton and one sister-in-law, Lydia Herrington. Martha was born at Sandy Point on the homestead of her parents, Jacob and Christina Bitz. She married Louie Job on September 21, 1930 and they lived on the Job homestead from 1930-1938 until moving into Burstall then later to Medicine Hat in 1951. They had three sons, Jacob, John and Bud. Martha kept herself busy by gardening, crocheting, quilting, canning and baking. Then the grandchildren came along and took up most of her time, but she still had time to do the things that she loved doing. She always loved having her grandchildren to spend time with and always enjoyed having all of them around her. She would always have something to eat if someone dropped in for a visit or she always had a bed for them to sleep in. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Sunday, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 – 10:55 a.m. The funeral service will be held in Temple Baptist Church (606 7th Street SW) on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Robert Findley officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. The family would like to thank Sunnyside and Havencrest for the personal care that was provided to our mom and grandma.
