MARTHA GLADYS ANDREWS

It is with deep sadness that the family of Martha Andrews announces her passing on December 10, 2012 at the St. Joseph’s Auxiliary Hospital in Edmonton at the age of 86 years.
Martha leaves to mourn her loss two daughters, Colleen Andrews (Jackie) of Sherwood Park , Gwen Vickers (Paul) of Brooks. Her son, David Andrews (Cheryl) resides in Bow City. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Andrews in August 2006 and her son, Bill Andrews, in April 2012. She is also survived by seven grandchildren – Ryan Andrews (Shannon), Amy Christensen (Glenn), Christopher Riley, Nathan Riley (Heather), Adam Andrews (Sarah), Clark Andrews (Bre), and Janelle Andrews (Tyler).
Seven great grandchildren will also miss “Great Andrews” – Logan Andrews, Grace Christensen, Meghan Andrews, Joshua Andrews, Kate Riley, Connor Christensen and Hadley Riley.
She had many friends at River Ridge Estates, in the Red Hatters, and in the community of Bow City (Brooks).
Martha was a recent recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, which was presented to her November 16. This award was for her lifelong commitment to her communities. She was able to receive this personally and was extremely proud.
As per her wishes, a cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers you are asked to please plant a tree.
