While surrounded by her family at the QEII Hospital in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Ellen Charlotte (Shirley) Marston went to join her beloved husband William Frank (Bill) on December 8, 2012.
Shirley was born on September 2, 1923 in Swastika, Alberta. She and her family moved to the Mayerthorpe area when she was a child. There, she lived and raised her eight children. Shirley and Bill worked in Fox Creek and Edmonton for several years before moving to Medicine Hat in 1983 to enjoy their retirement years together. 2011 brought a move to Grande Prairie to be close to family.
Shirley is survived by her eight children, their families, two sisters (Alice and Dorothy), and many beloved friends.
At her request, no funeral will be held. There will be an interment and celebration of her life at a later date.
