ALICE CHRISTINA KOSIK
Posted: January 16th, 2013Alice Christina (Bauer) Kosik, beloved wife of John Kosik, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Sunday, January 13, 2013, at the age of 82 years.
Alice was born March 15, 1930, in Medicine Hat to Michael and Magdelina Bauer. She was raised on the family farm east of Schuler, AB. and moved to Medicine Hat in her teens. Alice spent the majority of her working career with Domglas Inc. in Redcliff. One of Alice’s loves was dancing, and it was there she met John. They were married in Medicine Hat on December 1, 1951. Their son, Kim Michael, was born on October 21, 1956. Alice enjoyed escaping to the great outdoors traveling, camping and fishing with John and Kim. Alice was a great cook who loved entertaining others in her home. Many friends and family were also the grateful recipients of her beautiful knitting, crocheting and needle work efforts. Alice had a competitive nature to her which came out in her love of playing cards around the kitchen table to the wee hours of the morning. Alice will be deeply missed by her husband, John; sisters, Edna (Oscar) Herringer and Irene Ruckman, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Kim who died in 1990; her parents and inlaws; five brothers and eight sisters. John would like to express his heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses of the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital who provided such excellent care to Alice during her extended illness and to all of his neighbours and friends who have walked with him during this difficult time. Alice’s life will be silently remembered without the proceedings of a formal funeral service.
