1939 ~ 2013
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Edda Navarrete, announce her passing while at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at the age of 73 years. Edda was born June 24, 1939 in Santiago, Chile, a daughter to Juan and Maria Navarrete. She was raised in Chile, and as the thoughtful mother she was, she decided to move to Canada with her children so they could have a better life. Edda was strong and determined woman who always put her family first – she was also big-hearted, giving, forgiving and kind. She was the definition of the word mother and lived her life for her children and grandchildren, family meant the world to her and it showed. Edda also had a soft spot for stray animals and those less fortunate and was naturally caring towards anyone in need. She also adored her long-time, little pet companion, China. She loved to play BINGO and would often get caught up watching Spanish soap operas. Eddas wonderful sense of humor and bright smile will be deeply missed by the love of her life, Sergio Fernandez; children and grandchildren including daughter, Viviana (Duane) Froese and their family, Dustin and Shandie, Kathy-Lee (Nicholas Lobay); daughter, Blanca (Bob) Holladay and their family, Aldo and Gugliano; daughter, Patty Fernandez and her family, Luis and Melissa; son, Sergio (Isabel) Fernandez and their family, Maria (Aaron Bogya) and Sergio; son, Luis (Tina) Fernandez and their family, Gabriela and Francesca.
