Eunice Harriett Garissere, 87, passed away at Emerald Park, Sask. on March 3, 2013.
Eunice was born in Maple Creek, Sask. to the late Margaret and David Bowyer on June 7, 1925. She married Jean Garissere on Feb. 16, 1944. They ranched in the Cypress Hills until they retired to Maple Creek in 1991. They later transitioned to the William Albert House in Emerald Park, Sask.
Eunice loved life on the ranch and did her share of ranch work as well as cooking, baking, canning and gardening. Eunice loved to curl, ride, swim and spend time with family and friends. She had a great passion for music, singing, animals and rodeo where she loved watching Jean compete at ropings and rodeos. Eunice’s fondness for Maple Creek and the Cypress Hills will live on forever.
Eunice is survived by sisters Rita (Ed) Reardon and Beth (Cal) Johnston; daughter Barb Cressman; granddaughters Jocelyn Montgomery (Ehreth Clutterham) and Tara (Sheldon) Richard; grandson Troy (Holly) Halverson; six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eunice was predeceaed by her husband Jean Garissere, sister Peg Mestdagh and daughter Lynne Halverson.
The funeral service was held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Maple Creek, Sask. on Fri., Mar. 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Peter Boote officiating.  Interment took place at the Maple Creek Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Karen Reid, Kent Harrigan, Patti Schlenker, Vance Kaglea, John McDougald, Odette Galbraith. Honorary pallbearers were all those who shared in Eunice’s life.
Memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Maple Creek.
