Patricia Anne Gariepy (nee Durk), beloved wife of Wade Cole Gariepy, passed away at home in Suffield, AB., on Friday, April 12, 2013, at the age of 69 years. Patricia was born to George and Bonnie Durk on March 4, 1944, in Wetaskawin, AB. This is where she spent her formidable years as well as in Empress, AB. Pat married Wade in Red Deer, on June 17, 1977, and spent 35 wonderful years together, the last number of them in Suffield. She was caring and loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. In her spare time, Pat enjoyed doing crafts, cooking, gardening, helping others and working in her community. She was involved with the Suffield Community Recreation Association for many years. Pat truely loved her pets, Laska and Zoe. She will be forever loved by her husband, Wade; children, Randy (Janet) Ross and their children, Melissa, Danielle, great-grandson, Blake; Jacquie (Tim) Cook and their children, Sabrina and Jordan; Curt (Kyla) Ross and their children, Trey, Walker and Cooper; three step-children, Dirk Gariepy, Lance Gariepy and Dahrlyne Gariepy; step-grandson, Cole; step great-grandchildren, Eian and Adele; siblings, Len (Susan) Durk, Terry Durk, Wayne (Margarita) Durk, Ron Durk, Bill (Gerda) Durk as well as numerous nieces, nephews and close family friends. Pat was predeceased by her parents, George and Bonnie Durk; Wades parents, Sheila and Pat Gariepy; inlaws, Wilmer and Dorthy Ross and sister, Bev Durk. A Celebration of Patricias life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating.
