Alexander (Shep) Stanley Anton 1926 – 2013
Shep was born in Fox Valley, Sask., the son of Alex and Ottilia Anton.
Shep retired from Sask. Minerals where he was a car loader for many years and was also a successful sheep herder and cowboy. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid hunter and marksman who loved sharing his pastime with his children.
He is survived by Esther Anton and their four children, Sharon Anton of Calgary, Cameron Anton of Chaplin, and Cordell (Shelby) Anton of Chaplin and Carmon Anton of Medicine Hat; two sisters Rosemary and Tillie; as well as four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, six brothers and two sisters.
The funeral service was held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fox Valley, Sask. on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Modestus NGWU officiating.
Interment took place at the Fox Valley Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Todd Anton, Perry Anton, Blair Anton, Doug Anton, Craig Anton, Blythe Herley. Honorary pallbearers were all those who shared in Alex’s life.
