Ken Alvan Eby born to the late Alvin and Myrna Eby on December 23, 1944 passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2013, in Calgary Alberta at the age of 68 years, beloved husband of Edith Eby of Redcliff. He also leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Paul and Dale; five sisters, Laverne (Dick) Hogg, Joyce Deagle, Eileen (Wayne) McLaren, Karen Giesbrecht and Colleen (Larry) Halliday; two sisters-in-law, Brenda (Emil) Heitrich and Elaine (Ian) Hill; two brothers-in-law, Terry (Pauline) Robinson and Brian (Christina) Robinson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his in-laws, Clarence and Alice Robinson, brothers-in-law, Chuck Deagle and Arni Robinson; sister-in-law, Marg Robinson. Ken worked at two different lumber yards in Calgary, Palm Dairy in Calgary and Maple Leaf Mills in Medicine Hat until a back injury forced him into early retirement. He became a Christian at the age of 33 years. Ken’s life reflected the Lord from helping others to being willing to pitch in where needed no matter who you were. Until this recent illness, he loved to work in the yard. While resting in his big arm chair he would have his dog Muffin and remote control in his hand. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday, from 12:00 p.m. – 12:55 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Christ the King Assembly (1101 Queen St. SE) on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mitch Borrows and Dennis Betker officiating.
