TERRY AVERY
Posted: July 31st, 20131958 ~ 2013It is with heavy hearts that the family of Terry Howard Avery, beloved life partner of Sharon Peesker, announce his passing while at the Foothills Medical Centre on Friday, July 19, 2013, at the age of 55 years. Along with Sharon, left to cherish Terrys memory are his mother, Diane Avery of Ontario as well as two sisters, Cheryl (Steven) Phillips and their sons, Jason and Matthew of Ontario; Penny (Cody) Hogg and their son, Chance of Medicine Hat. He was predeceased by his father, Thomas Samuel Avery as well as his grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles. Terry moved to Medicine Hat in 1980. He worked on various oil rigs with Fracmaster and Haliburton and has been employed with Calfrac Well Services for the last 10 years. Terry was a people person. He especially enjoyed keeping in touch with his best friend from school, John McMaster of Ontario, and enjoyed the company of his many friends, especially his best buddy in Medicine Hat, Mark Johnson. Terry liked watching sports, particularly when his Eskimos or Oilers were playing! He enjoyed his trips to Mexico with Sharon as well as time spent driving his 1963 convertible. Terry loved the people he worked with and always had stories to tell about his Work Buddies. For a helping hand, he could count on his little right hand man, great-nephew, Wyatt, whom he always called Hound-Dog. Sadly, Terrys dream to buy a big boat and retire back to Ontario was not to be. His memory will live on in the hearts and minds of all those whose lives he touched. A Celebration of Terrys life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, August 2, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Canon Gene Packwood officiating. A time of fellowship in Cook Southlands Reception Center will follow immediately after the Chapel Service. (Condolences may be expressed by visiting www.cooksouthland.com) If friends so desire, memorial tributes in memory of Terry may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 124, 430 – 6 Avenue S.E., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 2S8. Honoured to serve the family is COOK SOUTHLAND Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 4V4. Telephone: 403-527-6455.
